New Issues Monday @ Paper Issues!

Its time for round 2 of New Issues Monday at Paper Issues!! This month's issue is called Pedal/Petal to the Medal/Metal and here are some ideas that come in to the catergory!
  • Use metallics and/or metal embellishments.
  • Create a project using flowers or about gardening and spring.
  • Share something about transportation like bicycles, motorcycles, cars (your first car or current ride), toy cars, etc.
  • Show us a project about awards and/or accomplishments.

I thought I would kind of touch on the spring aspect. It's all about April Showers and I thought this cute photo of Addison playing in the puddles would be perfect! Little by Little by Shimelle has perfect kid elements as well as spring colors. The raindrop paper and rain clouds I thought how fun to add to the page. I also for a while have been wanting to do this heart element I saw on another page via Pinterest. So I cut the paper in to 2x2 squares then diagonally cut them to build a heart as well as parts of the heart to form a pattern of the heart on the paper. I thought the glue wasn't enough so I did put some modge podge on top of it which gave the page a shiny feel, which was a new surprise.

As always I have to have clusters of embellishments on the page, I did some on the left of the photo as well as added fussy cut flowers on other parts of the hearts. The bottom right I built another cluster. The letters for the title were from the Crate Paper Little You (Girl) line - thought the pink went well with the elements on the page. I also took a shot at some hand stitching, although now that I look at it- I wish I had done it with a bolder color than white so it would stand out more but it was definitely a new thing to try that I enjoyed.

I can't wait to see what you guys submit to the challenge on Paper Issues Facebook Group. If you need more goodies- because who the hell doesn't- go to the Paper Issues store and use my code Renee to save yourself 20% on your order! Which means you buy more right?? :D Maybe that's just me as always.

New Issue Monday @ Paper Issues!!

This month's New Issue Monday at the Paper Issues Facebook Group is Anything Goes! Well so that opened the door wide open, and to be quite frank- I didn't even know where to start.

I knew I wanted to use the Crate Paper Oasis line because well, I hadn't yet and that was the line I was the most excited about receiving. Okay, did I say that about all of them?? I may have. But this one I really was excited for!

Granted-I live in the middle of Iowa- we don't have much beach life. But sometimes we do- at the lake. Growing up I didn't really have anyone in my life that was big on the lake life in the summer so I lived kind of sheltered from this excitement. Thankfully my ex ( yes, lets move past from that part of the conversation. ) opened the door to showing me some of the great things about the outdoors I hadn't explored yet. Leading me to this page I made about a weekend trip to Clear Lake ( clever town name. ) with some friends of ours for the 4th of July.

I had a few pictures I wanted to use, so it wouldn't be strictly me and my ex plus it would be great to show my friends as well. So did some digging on Pinterest and found a page layout that is similar to a Project Life 12x12 spread. I liked the idea of the 4x6's to use to build clusters on them. As well as having one in the middle to use as a title section.  There was so many embellishments that I just fell in love with so of course, I had to use them all.

I just love the title section! I used acetate as well as vellum behind the title, than used the chipboard saying "Weekend Getaway" which works perfectly for the page!  I just can't get enough of this collection.  Can't wait to use it again, now someone just take me to a real beach?!?!

As always, get your scrapbook goodies at Paper Issues- can't say enough positive things about them, not just because I'm on their team but I've purchased from her strictly for a couple years now - fastest service and always stocked with the newest collections.  Use my name Renee for 20% off your purchase!

New Issues Monday @ Paper Issues.

New Issue Monday over at Paper Issues' Facebook Group! This month's issue is Let's Play Post Office.

Suggested ideas: -Use office supplies like binder clips, tags, push pins, postage stamps and envelopes. -Alter a clipboard. -Include stamping on your project. -Document a piece of mail or a love letter. -Create a layout about your latest Paper Issues package (either a photo of the box and/or contents). -Show us your kids, grandchildren, etc. at play. -Share something about Valentine's Day/love.

I decided to just show kids at play. I couldn't come up with anything I was satisfied with the other options so I kind of took the easy way out. Sorry to disappoint! But I just love this photo of my niece with her fork in her hair. I thought it would be just perfect with the Cute Girl line from Crate Paper. I also was flipping through my album of scrapbook pages- decided to lift an idea I did before. So I took strips of what was left of my Cute Girl paper and cut them in to 1 by 1 squares than diagonal to make the little triangles. I laid them in the 1 inch rows alternating the way they faced to create this fun background. I layered the cut aparts behind my photo and created clusters of embellishments around it as well as in the bottom right corner.

I hope you were inspired by my layout! Use your scraps to create awesome backgrounds!! I can't wait to see what you guys come up with!! <3 20="" :p="" a="" all="" always="" amazing="" an="" and="" be="" buy="" code="" delivery="" disappointed="" excuse="" fast="" for="" from="" get="" great="" issues="" it="" just="" maybe="" me.="" more="" nbsp="" off="" or="" order-="" p="" paper="" renee="" right="" s="" savings="" scrappy="" selection="" service="" store-="" t="" that="" the="" things="" to="" use="" won="" you="" your="">

New Issues Monday Round 2 @ Paper Issues!

Time for the Second Round of New Issue Monday at Paper Issues!!

This month's Issue is Stash Busters!

What is Stash Busters about? Here are some ideas to get you started (use one or use them all). Feel free to use any product you'd like. Projects can be new or old and you're welcome to share as many as you'd like.
  • It's a new year, so make a dent in your stash! What are you hoarding? Is it an old collection? Is there a paper you think is too pretty to cut into? Do you have embellishments you haven't even opened? Get to work creating a project that includes something you haven't used yet or finishes off a collection by using up the scraps.
  • Show us anything about your New Year's celebrations.
  • Scrap a photo of yourself.

So I decided to use some of the paper from Simple Stories' The Reset Girl line as well as other lines by Simple Stories I had hoarded.  I thought the bright but basic colors went well with these photos I fixed in a photo app. I also liked many of the embellishments like the now and daily- to capture my "resolution" of exercising more. I fussy cut also from the cut apart cards I had to give myself more embellishments and a "title" of sorts. I'm trying to get back in shape LIKE A BOSS!

As I always say, I love watching my stash dwindle down and it gave me an excuse to bust in to my stash I've been hoarding. It's just so pretty!!! I hate that, but I buy it for a reason- might as well use it. Also gives me an excuse to buy more- with all these new lines coming out soon- I got to get my wallet as well as my space ready for it all!

Use my name Renee in the code spot at Paper Issues' Store for 20% off!!
Helps with the resolution of saving money right??

Can't wait to see what you come up with!! Remember you have until February 5th to submit them on the Paper Issues' Facebook Group
